Terms & Conditions
These terms govern entry to the Ghost Coat 2026 Photography Competition. By submitting work you agree to all of them. Read carefully — if anything is unclear, send us a DM before you enter.
Last updated: 1 May 2026
1. Eligibility
The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged eighteen (18) or over at the date of entry. Employees of Ghost Coat, their immediate families, and anyone professionally connected to the running of the competition are not eligible to enter.
- One Instagram account per entrant.
- Accounts must be public for the duration of the competition.
- Group entries are not accepted — the named account holder is the sole entrant.
2. How to enter
Entries must be submitted via Instagram, in line with the brief published on this site. To be considered, an entry must:
- Be posted as a single image on the entrant’s public Instagram feed (not Stories or Reels).
- Tag @ghostcoat.io in the post body. Comments and Story tags do not count.
- Be posted on or before 23:59 BST on 12 July 2026.
There is no limit to the number of posts a single entrant may submit. Each post is treated as a separate entry.
2.1 Original work only
You must be the sole author of every image submitted. Generative AI imagery is not permitted in any part of an entry, including backgrounds, retouching, or compositing. Where models or recognisable subjects appear, you are responsible for obtaining their consent in writing.
2.2 Round two
Shortlisted entrants will receive a Ghost Coat product and brief for round two. Round two work must be submitted within fourteen (14) days of the shortlist announcement, following the same posting and tagging rules above.
3. Prizes
The winner receives:
- A new iPhone 17 Pro (model and storage at our discretion).
- Their work featured across our launch campaign, with attribution.
- A Ghost Coat product and twelve (12) month warranty.
Fifty (50) shortlisted entrants each receive a Ghost Coat product and twelve-month warranty.
Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash alternative. We reserve the right to substitute prizes of equivalent value if circumstances beyond our control require it.
4. Use of submitted work
You retain copyright in any work you submit. By entering, you grant Ghost Coat a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use shortlisted and winning work for the purposes of:
- Announcing and promoting the competition results.
- Marketing and promotional materials for Ghost Coat products through 31 December 2027.
- Editorial features on our channels and partner channels, always with credit.
We will not sub-license your work to third parties or use it outside the scope above without your written consent.
Attribution
Where your work is used, we will credit you by your Instagram handle, or by your real name where you have explicitly requested it. We cannot guarantee attribution in every secondary placement, but we will use reasonable efforts to maintain credit.
5. Judging
Entries will be judged by a panel including Ghost Coat’s creative team and at least one external photographer. Judging is based on fit with the published brief, technical quality, and originality. The panel’s decision is final, and we do not enter into correspondence about individual entries.
6. Disqualification
We may disqualify any entry that, in our reasonable judgement:
- Breaches these terms or the published brief.
- Contains generative AI imagery, plagiarised work, or work where the entrant is not the sole author.
- Includes content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise unsuitable for publication.
- Shows visible competitor logos or branding.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ghost Coat is not liable for any loss or damage arising from participation in the competition, the use of our products, or the use of submitted work, except where such liability cannot be excluded under English law. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
